4 Ways to spend quality time with YOURSELF

Relying on yourself to solve problems, gain comfidence, relax and improve your self esteem is so crucial ! Spending time with yourself allows you to accomplish even more. You need to understand that sometimes people are only extras in your life, that at the end of the day all that matter is how you feel.

Step n°1. Take 10 minutes a day to relax.

Do not hesitate to take at least a 10 minutes break in the morning or at the end of the day, to focus on how you feel and take a step back on what is happening.

  • Meditation is really helpful to clear the mind. I found a really cool free App called Headspace for beginners.
  • A good stretch helps to release toxins in your body and bring the positive energy you need.

Step n°2. Treat yourself.

As well as when you’re on a diet, you deserve a treat to thank yourself for the efforts you provided, and help you keep going. What is it that you really want ? Is it an ice-cream ? A lipstick ? A hot bath ? Some vacation ? Allow yourself a treat once a week.

Step n°3. Write a diary.

I find this very helpful when I have someting in my mind that I want to let go. I feel that if I write it down, it will remain on the paper and let my mind free of it. I highly recommend it if you have not tried yet. And if you’re not used to keep a diary, you can begin by making a list of the top 5 positive things about your day, or the things you are grateful for. Take a moment to think about how you feel about a certain topic on your life that worries you, and write it down. Going back to it later on may help you as well. It is a very interesting way to see your own evolution.

If you’re not sure that this may suit you, try to make videos or keep a song or a drawing diary.

Step n°4. Do what you like to do.

You may enjoy drawing or singing as I said previously, or you may love cooking, playing video games, or helping people. I love this quote I found on Pinterest, that says « Take time to do what makes your soul happy ». Try to spend at least 30 min per week on it. You can take it to the next level by building a project ! 

Don’t forget that you are your best friend. None knows you and your needs as well as you do. So trust your intuitions more often, and love yourself !
